Holiday roundup
What I've done holidayish in the last 4 days.
1. Baked batches of sugar cookies, Mexican wedding cookies, lemon cream cheese bars, and made dough for Snickerdoodles. Plans are for gingerbread men and sugar cookies to decorate for tomorrow and lemon bars and fudge on Saturday.
2. Went shopping for more gifts even though I'd said that I was done. My husband needs a copy of Serenity don't you think?
3. Got most of the items on my grocery list needed for the weekend's cooking.
4. Finally sat down to write and address Christmas cards and got them sent out which involved finding a place to color print my holiday letter (as my printer chose this exact time to get wiggy) and going to another town to find a post office that wasn't a zoo. So, hopefully my cards will arrive before the end of Twelfth Night. *crosses fingers*
5. Took the kids to see The Nutcracker.
6. Went to a friend's house to watch Meet Me in St. Louis which she loves and I'd never seen.
7. Helped out a sick friend.
8. Wrapped more presents. (Yet all the Santa presents are still in my closet waiting to be wrapped on Christmas Eve after the kids are asleep.)
I don't know how Santa gets it all done.
In the not-so-Christmasy category I've had to drive my oldest to something or another every day this week and the trend continues tomorrow. Not exactly the "sleep late and be indolent" vacation that I'd been dreaming of. Ah, foolish expectation. lol
ETA Thank you to Jana Jo and Micha for the Christmas cards. They're hanging around the window in my dining room with their compatriot cards helping to make things even more festive in my house. Thank you for thinking of me. :)
