Feeling much less stress

Christmas has been duly celebrated. The plumber came on St. Stephen's Day and my sink now works again (although I think that the 11 year-old dishwasher needs to be replaced), M's 11th birthday has been duly celebrated (almost everyone enjoyed "The Golden Compass" and the Wii is a *huge* hit), and with the exception of one highly awkward issue, the m-i-l visit has gone fairly smoothly. I'm about to knock on wood that things stay smooth. Tomorrow I have to take the van in to have some work done (for an ugly amount of money I'm sure) and I'm renting an SUV while it's in the shop so that I can drive down to GA with the kids on Saturday to celebrate a belated Christmas with my family.
