Nothing in particular
I'm trying to be a little more rigorous about making entries in the
hope that I can overcome this hesitation that I have regarding
journaling. So, just some random comments on my day.
There was a plethora of Carolina Blue and Tar Heels t-shirts to be seen in and around Chapel Hill today. Apparently approximately 45,000 people converged on Franklin Street to celebrate the NCAA championship win. Surprisingly there was relatively little mayhem and vandalism.
I met my college roommate for lunch today at a great German bakery/cafe in Durham (who knew that such a thing was possible?) where we sat out in the sunshine and caught up with each other's lives.. The cream puff was luscious. Plus, it was really nice to see J. again. We don't live very far away from each other, but our we seldom see each other in person. At least we're still really comfortable with each other when we do.
I actually remembered to watch Veronica Mars tonight and found it engrossing. The identity of the person behind the harassment wasn't really a surprise, but I thougt the show did a very nice job intercutting the multiple storylines. I also noticed that Veronica and Logan seem to have a love theme in the background of their scenes.. I wonder if this is a relatively new development? Since my viewing has been spotty, I'm just not sure. I'll definitely have to check out the first season dvds when they're released. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that UPN gives it a second season pickup. Since the show seems to be a media darling, it might be worth it to the network to keep it around just for the critical legitimacy it bestows. *fervently hopes*
Finally, I'm very pleased to announce that spring has arrived. The red buds and plum trees are in full bloom and tulips are opening as well. N. keeps saying that the trees look like "pink popcorn trees". I've always loved fall most of all the seasons, but spring is truly resonating with me this year. Maybe because this past winter seemed to drag on for longer than usual.
