Swimming and books

Yes, it's that time of year again. Summer swim league season is upon us and Saturday was the first meet. I'm pleased to report that the Parkwood Piranhas winning streak continues as we won our meet against Woodcroft. We'll see if the team can pull off its fourth consecutive undefeated season. My kids did well. E got two seconds and a first. J got a second and a fifth. N got two thirds. M aged up to 9-10's this year which means that he's swimming 50's for the first time. Hopefully, there will be ribbons in his future soon.

I also managed to finish another book over the weekend. #52 was another nostalgia read. You know how there are some books that you read at an impressionable age that just stick with you? This is one of mine. Amanda/Miranda by Richard Peck. A dual narrator story about the lives of two girls who could be Shakespearean twins. Mistaken identity, English nobility, class issues, dark secrets, the sinking of the Titanic, love both healthy and obsessive and a little fortunetelling to get things started. I still love it.
