Christmas wrap up post
Now that things have calmed down a little, I can get to this. I have absolutely no room for complaints this holiday season. I was very well taken care of. My father-in-law was here for E's birthday and took me shopping for Christmas. I did some serious damage at Chico's holiday sale. We're talking 14 items altogether. All of the saleswomen were agog at the fact that he was treating me. But, I sale shopped and got everything for at least half off. So, go me.
Here's a rundown of my other Christmas gifts.
From my mother I got a very nice outfit with a matching jacket and a pendant and earrings set with tiny diamonds, and a scarf. She also got me a Hummel ornament for my tree. She gets me one every year.
From my mother-in-law a puau necklace and earrings from New Zealand (she was on a trip there in November) and a bag of French truffles from Trader Joe's.
From my brother-in-law, who drew my name in the family gift exchange, a pair of dangly silver earrings, a silver bracelet and an ornament.
From my husband a very nice garment bag suitcase, a pair of peridot earrings, a bag of dark chocolate Lindt Lindor balls, and a variety of cd's including Radiohead, Sarah's Rarities and B-Sides, Iron and Wine's Our Endless Numbered Days, and some holiday music. He did a very good job this year. :)
From my sister-in-law a copy of Special Topics in Calamity Physics which I'm excited about because I've read really good reviews.
From my daughter a tiny little oil painting that she did in her art class after their visit to the Monet exhibit.
In the immortal words of Mr. Sandler, "not too shabby".
I may have also picked up some jewelry for myself in after Christmas sales. It's hard to pass up "50% off take an additional 40% off".
