Books

The next two on the 2007 hit parade. A little genre reading of the not-brain-taxing variety.

#6 is Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich(Jan/07). Nowhere near the Stephanie Plum series, but a perfectly fine way to spend an evening. Baltimore girl who grew up fixing cars in her dad's garage ends up in Miami trying to find her brother who's run afoul of all sorts of bad guys and ends up paired with a good 'ole boy NASCAR driver who really wants to find out what she has under the hood.

#7 is Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich(Jan/07). The second in the series. I read this one in the car yesterday while waiting for various appointments to begin or end.

Now, off I go to do even more errands. Luckily I have more books in the car.

Interesting. The m-i-l has Metro Girl in her extensive library but I haven't read it. If it features a good 'old boy NASCAR driver, well, I might have to ask to borrow it. The cover just doesn't say "good 'ole boy NASCAR driver" to me though...

The first one is set in Miami and the Keys, which I'm assuming dictated the cover art choices. NASCAR figures more prominently in the second book, but they're definitely not deep books. Frothy is the order of the day. Brain candy is how I'd typify them.
