Oct. 1st, 2004 06:00 pmAmazing that it's the first of October already. I'm realizing that I need to start planning for Christmas gifts. Time flies and all that jazz.
With the advent of fall there is the associated beginning of the new tv season. Since I'm sadly Jossless this year (although I have finally started watching the Firefly dvds and am enjoying them), I've decided to give Lost a go. It's nicely entertaining with a dollop of creepy so far. Terry O'Quinn and the orange peel seemed very A Clockwork Orangeish to me. Lost doesn't have the Jossian sense of whimsy and humor, but the scenery is very pretty. And I'm not talking Hawaii, beautiful though it is. JJ has assembled quite a cast.
Otherwise, Gilmore Girls and OTH are filling my pop culture needs. Say what you will about the evils of the WB, they're great for keeping you current with bands that are about to hit it big. I can't wait until the Farscape miniseries later this month. That promises to be excellent.
In the meantime, X-Files fanfic is going a long way to filling the Jossvoid in my life. I discovered it very, very late, but I'm doing my best to make up for lost time. There's something oddly freeing about coming into a fandom when the show is over. The bad things have already happened and writers have already tried to rectify them.
