Late last night I returned from a four-day trip sans husband or children. It was wonderful to get away. D. picked me up at the airport and whisked me away for a decadent spa session at the Ritz-Carlton. We barely stopped talking the entire time we were together. After leaving the Ritz we headed to her house. It was beautiful in Madison with azaleas and wisteria blooming everywhere and D's family were delightful. The time flew by.
The remainder of my trip was spent with my sister J. in Atlanta. We ate lots, read lots, watched movies (went to see Fever Pitch on Saturday and really enjoyed it), went to a museum, and were generally self-indulgent.
It's nice to be home again (and the house isn't quite as much of a disaster area as I was picturing), but, I must reiterate, it's also wonderful to get away.
