List five fictional people--from televisions, movies, books, whatever--that you had a crush on as a child or early teen. Then post this on your Live Journal so people can know what a dork you've always been.
Hmmm. This was harder than I thought it would be. I know that I'm probably overlooking some very cringe-inducing crushes from yesteryear, but here's what I've come up with for public consumption. ;)
1) Gilbert from Anne of Green Gables. Smart, quick witted, and a worthy adversary. Not to mention tall, dark, and devoted. What more could you want?
2) Joe Willard from the Besty-Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace Also smart and quick witted. Not to mention a worthy intellectual equal. The blonde, blue-eyed thing worked for me as well.
3) Calvin from Madeleine L'Engle's series being with A Wind in the Door. Smart, loyal, and endearingly gawky. Like Joe in the previous example, Calvin overcomes some hardships to make the best of his life. There's something about the underdog. lol
4) Starbuck from the original Battlestar Galactica. What can I say? Apparently I am attracted to hot quasi-bad guys with quick wits.
5) Merlin from Roger Zelazny's Nine Princes in Amber. Sexy and could get into trouble in both the Courts of Amber *and* Chaos. How many people can say that?
I have to agree with Kath about Laurie from Little Women. He was the perfect guy and having him end up with Amy is one of the great tragedies of literature. Professor Behr. *spits in disgust* When my daughter was reading Little Women for the first time last year, I was waiting for her reaction to Laurie not ending up with Jo. She could not believe it and went on at length about how that just couldn't be. Join the club sweetheart. All right-thinking individuals know that Jo and Laurie were made for each other.
