Three day weekends

Three day weekends are indubitably one of the great pleasures of life. I had a thoroughly slothful weekend staying up way too late and sleeping just as late. Today there was a potluck at our community pool. I love occasions that allow me to eat elsewhere and not have to clean up my kitchen afterward. :)

I'm looking at the last two weeks of semifreedom before the kids get out of school for the summer. It's funny. I look back and remember that my mother never seemed as excited about the advent of summer vacation as I did. I understand that point of view much, much better now. lol I do love my kids, but I also love not having them home 24/7. On the other hand, not having to drive 50-100 miles a day like I have to when school is in session, isn't something that I'll miss. The tradeoffs of adult life. :)

Okay, random question for anyone who might read my journal. Did anyone see Wicker Park and if so, is it worth renting? I got one of the songs from the soundtrack from [livejournal.com profile] audiography (The Postal Service's cover of Against All Odds) and I'm intrigued. So, other than the hotness of Josh Hartnett, is there anything else to recommend it?
