Random update

Because I've apparently gotten out of the habit of updating now that summer has begun and the kids are home 24/7. Well, that and swim team takes up a lot of time. The regular season has ended and I'm proud to report that the Piranhas were undefeated for the third straight summer. Championships are this weekend, so think good thoughts that everyone swims well. N is a little leery of the idea of swimming in a really big, deep pool. Championships are held at UNC's natatorium and that's a much different experience than outside pools.

I'm once again praising air conditioning as it's gotten incredibly hot over the last week. So hot that I think that I had a touch of heat exhaustion last Friday. I felt really crummy and actually threw up for the first time in years. I'd forgotten how unfun that process is.

After reading all the rhapsodies about the new Who, I downloaded all the eps and watched them over the long weekend. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed them. A nice mix of the original cheese and modern updates. Plus, *loved* Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper. They were a great pairing. So much so that I doubt that I'll check out the new incarnation of the Doctor. Too bad Eccleston wanted out so soon.
