The video into was very funny. Although Letterman with the kids was a little bit freaky.

The crowd in general seemed oddly subdued. Were they afraid that Jon was going to jump them if they showed some semblance of life? Did like the Bjork joke though. Bjork! Whereforth art thou? The Oscars need bizarro grace notes like that. Then again, Three 6 Mafia winning Best Song may have provided that for this outing. "For those keeping track at home. Martin Scorsese 0. Three 6 Mafia 1." snerk.

In general, the clothes were oddly subdued as well. And what was with all the dresses with only one shoulder? Sorry, but most of the time those just make you look as if one breast is wildly larger than the other. I watched with my 14 year old and his reaction to Charlize Theron's dress was "what's with that bow? It looks like she has a dead rabbit in there." Of course, this is the same child who, when viewing the commercials for that new Miracles medical reality show announced that it was "Extreme Makeover Mental Edition". Have I mentioned lately that he really make me laugh?

Reese's dress was very pretty and I've got to say that between the Oscar and the hot husband, I may be a wee bit envious. Although, what's up with Ryan and the perpetual sneer? Could it have something to do with the fact that he got 2.5 million for his last movie and Reese got 15? Hmmm. I wonder. Plus, he certainly seemed a whole heck of lot more thrilled that "Crash" won best picture than he did when his wife won the Academy Award.

Heath and Michelle were very cute. As were the Wallace and Gromit guys and their wee little bowties for the Oscars. I also liked the Lilly Tomlin/Meryl Streep comedy show. That was a charming moment. Also, Clooney wins my award for classiest acceptance speech. Go George.

All in all, a passably entertaining evening.
