Book pledge update
Apr. 18th, 2006 01:31 pmOne good thing about driving to visit family in another state is that it gives you time to read. Which is exactly what I did as we were heading south for Easter last weekend. #25 is Faking It by Jennifer Crusie. I've heard lots of other people refer to her books, but had never read anything by her before. This was an entertaining look at families, identity, and art. A fun read.
This means that I'm officially at the book pledge halfway point. Which is a positive note on a day when I'm feeling not so great. I get sick quite rarely, but apparently this is my scheduled time to do so. I went to the doctor this morning and the official word is strep-like throat infection with associated joint pains, headache, sore throat, and low grade fever. Blech. Let's hope the antibiotic starts to work quickly.
ETA Just finished book #26. Summerland by Michael Chabon. Technically a YA book, but worthwhile for readers of all ages. A quasi-Gaimanish look at baseball, Norse and Native American mythology, and finding out who you really are and what you're capable of in the bottom of the ninth down by two.
