Now that was an episode!! I've enjoyed the show so far this season, but haven't been in love. Mainly because I've found Veronica less likable in her latest iteration and I learned the very, very hard way in a previous fandom that not being enamored of the titular petite blonde female character definitely impacts the viewing experience. But, after a relatively slow start the season really seems to be starting to gel and if this episode is any indication of the quality to come, it's going to be one hell of a ride.

Some random things that amused me greatly. The Logan/Dick interaction about Kendall. Better Logan than the pool boy huh? Plus, Dick's admission about perving on Lynn was a nice throwback to a theme from "A Echolls Family Christmas".

Speaking of throwbacks, having Abel, Clarence, Aaron, and Cliff pop up was also great. I appreciate the fact that last season's events continue to have ripple effects in the present. The Logan/Cliff interactions were priceless. Logan needs someone who isn't impressed by his bombast and calls him on his jackassedness and Cliff is just the man to do it. :)

Clarence? Is still a scary mofo. When he appears in the motel, I jumped. Plus, the guy from Repo Man was the desk clerk. That made me smile. The show is doing a great job getting quirky, but recognizable character actors.

Plus, my most favorite squee moment was during the Joss scene. Not because of Joss, who I thought did a very good job. But, because it was supposed to be a Lariat rental agency. Lariat, as in the car rental agency used by Mulder and Scully on the X-Files. I love it when favorite fandoms collide!

Now, things that make me go hmmmm. Warning, speculation of the probably baseless and off the mark variety ahead.

Could Aaron have been telling the truth about Duncan's involvement in Lilly's death? Even sociopaths tell the truth sometimes and would he have known about Duncan's tendency to violent outbursts if he hadn't witnessed one? That doesn't strike me as the kind of things Lilly would discuss in post-coital conversation.

Do we think that Meg's father is an abuser? Could that be what was detailed on Meg's laptop that her sister was so desperate to have removed? Or could Duncan have knocked Meg up while they were dating and she had an abortion?

Was that the remains of dynamite that Keith saw under the bus seat? (Okay, not speculation, but a question nonetheless.) I think that the PCH'er that was killed on the bus is going to reoccur in the investigation.

Lamb's snark continues to amuse. Actually, everyone's snark amused. :) Poor Mrs. Navarro though. She's already lost her job at the Echoll's. Does this mean that she's going to become homeless because of them as well? Logan certainly found a more intelligent and devastating way to strike back against Weevil than the usual macho posturing (not to mention underscoring the who have/have not tension that's been touted this season), but still. Not cool to catch others in the crossfire.

My metaphorical hat's off to whoever wrote this episode. It was most entertaining and chock full of goodness.

ETA Okay, so it was a rat under the seat and that must have been what Dick was complaining about to Miss Dumbass, I mean Dumas. So, a rat? That normally means someone who's telling secrets out of school. Something else to go "hmmmm" about.

I also totally forgot to mention that I missed Wallace and that must be explicitly stated.
