Why is it that whenever your husband/wife/significant other goes out of town, inevitably a child gets sick? Are there some wily little viruses that lie dormant just until the other parental figure is out of the picture? Because, my life experience would lead me to consider that theory. Case in point, G left for Evanston yesterday to attend his sister's dissertation defense and at 3am this morning N came into my room saying that "her tummy hurt". Well, that was the prelude to over an hour and a half of throwing up. Needless to say, she's home from school today. Sadly, however, she had to go along in the car to take the other three to school this morning. Not the most fun ride home for my baby. But, we both went back to bed for several hours when we returned and she seems somewhat improved now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no one else succumbs.

I have to say, 2006 has been a bad year healthwise thus far. Perhaps we're getting all the illness out of the way early this year. How's that for attempting to be a glass-half-full kind of gal?
