The London terror attacks
Jul. 7th, 2005 01:57 pmWhat a horrible thing to have happen. Just yesterday I was watching the live coverage of the 2012 Olympics announcements and saw thousands of jubilant Londoners celebrating the news that they'd won the Games. Then, 24 hours later horrors. The city and its citizens will be in my prayers.
One thing that strikes me about this though is that on some level it doesn't surprise me. How sad is it that we live in a world where orchestrated brutality against the innocent is no longer something completely unexpected. Unwanted most definitely, but not unexpected. The world that my children live in is markedly different from the one that I lived in as a child. *sigh*
