Slightly more lucid reactions to RotS

Well, the acronym is more than a little fitting. lol
When I got went to bed after seeing it (around 3am EST) I indavertently woke up my husband. My first response to him, "Bad, bad movie" followed by the already posted line about cheese and maligning dairy products.)
My biggest complaints (other than the lack of personal grooming among our central Jedi also mentioned in my earlier post) are that the dialogue is bad (why, when George Lucas has more money that, well just about anyone, can't he just pay someone to write a decent screenplay? Why must we all suffer from his inability to delegate?), I absolutely didn't buy the logic of Anakin's turn to the Dark Side, and Padme is reduced to a weepy, stereotypical female. And absolutely no way could she have produced twins of that size when compared to the size she was. Talk about suspension of disbelief. Geez.
It wasn't a total disaster. There were some amusing things. The lava planet looked frighteningly realistic (although the burning scene was way too graphic) and I liked the Wookie's world with the giant flowers. It was nice to see R2, C3PO, and Chewbacca again. Ewan McGregor didn't even annoy me in this one which was a surprise. I was impressed with the acrobatic skills that The Force seems to confer on Jedi. Either that or Crouching Dragon Hidden Tiger is part of the Jedi indoctrination process. lol I also thought that Palpatine was a fascinating character. He stagemanaged beautifully and the hint that he was the apprentice who offed the powerful Dark Lord who could manipulate life through the midichlorians was intriguing. But, overall, I thought it was the worst of the franchise that I've seen. Bearing in mind that I never saw Phantom Menace. YMMV. :)
People should see it because it's part of the cultural zeitgeist, but I didn't find it satisfying from a cinematic point of view.
