Let me go on the record as stating that I love the holidays. The lights, the decorations, the beautifully wrapped packages, Bing's voice. I love it all. But, and this is a big but, I am much less enthusiastic about disassembling all the decorations into their constituent parts and packing them up in preparation for next year. Guess what I was doing today? Yep, you got it in one. It took me between 3 and 4 hours to get it all done and there's still bazillions of fir needles in the house that I haven't been able to clean up yet. Beauty definitely doesn't come without a price. Plus, you always seem to acquire more holiday-related accoutrement and that makes getting everything back into the allotted storage area that much more fun. But, I did it. *wipes brow*

Otherwise, poor M. woke me up at 6am on New Year's Day being sick which pretty much continued throughout the day. He was better on Monday, so he went to school yesterday, but I had to pick him up early and he was home today. He should be able to go back tomorrow which will mean that I'll finally be alone in the house again for the first time since the middle of December assuming that no one else succumbs. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Now, I think I just might go curl up with one of the Kelley Armstrong books that [livejournal.com profile] muffinkath7 recommended to me and veg out for a while before bedtime. I think I've finally hit the stage of my life where I actually need more than six hours of sleep a night. Lo how the mighty have fallen. *sigh*

One of the many advantages to a fake tree: no needle pickups. :D I get to undecorate over the weekend, and I'm not really looking forward to it either. *crosses fingers for alone time for Angela*

I do love the smell of a real tree though. I guess it's worth it dealing with the needles. :)

Thanks for the good thoughts. I did get alone time today, but sadly I was in bed with a headache for most of it. Such is life. lol

Hope you like it! I always get nervous when people read my recommendations, in case they hate them ;)

I feel the same way when I recommend something Kath! I read Bitten and Stolen last night and today and enjoyed them both. I've got Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic, but haven't read them yet.

Wow. That was fast! lol It took me six weeks to read Stolen (but I was reading other stuff too). I like the witch books better than the wolf ones actually, but probably because I read them first. Interested to see if you feel the same. There's one more after stolen, called Haunted, about Savannah from Stolen's mother, Even. The next new Armstrong will be about Elena again.

Kath, I read Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic last night and today and liked them a lot. I think that her writing is improving. The biggest difference I noticed with the earlier two is that her characterization is better in the Witch books. Lucas is much more three-dimensional than Clay for example. Which is a pity because I'd like to get more insight into Clay. You only really get him filtered through Elena's often bitter perceptions. I'll be curious to see how she handles that relationship in the new book that you mentioned.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Congratulations on finishing your cleanup! Just like a party -- More fun to prepare than to clean up, but it's also kind of satisfying to get back to regular life.

I hope your youngster heals quickly and you get plenty of rest!

(Oh, and I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Probably a minor depression, but I'm pulling myself back to society and will hopefully be a little more present.) Happy New Year!!!

Hi there! I was wondering how you were doing, but didn't want to be too intrusive. There's always the fear that you'll come across stalkery in cyberspace. ;)

Hope that you're feeling better and that you had good holidays. :)

If you're given permission to stalk, is it really stalking anymore? A koan for the modern age. lol
