Happy St. Patrick's Day
Mar. 17th, 2006 12:53 pmA very happy St. Paddy's Day to all of you this fine day. Are you all wearing green to avoid being pinched? I broke out my Connemara brooch and my green cable knit sweater to commemorate the day as I was helping to host a themed Parent Coffee at my younger two's school this morning. I had a blast making an Irish music playlist for background music. I'd forgotten how deeply bipolar Irish music actually is. It's either raucous songs about drinking and carousing or beautiful melodies about death, dying, and being transported to Botany Bay. Although, nothing beats hearing Ronnie Drew and The Dubliners belt out "Finnegan's Wake" and "Seven Drunken Nights". Then, you can go straight to the tearjerkers and listen to "The Fields of Athenry" and "Green Fields of France". Ah, my Irish forbears, how I do love you.

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope your family is all healthy and vibrant again!
