I'm still in Nora Roberts mode. They're like potato chips. You definitely can't read just one. #53 and #54 are more of the Donovan series. Charmed and Enchanted. Beautiful hereditary witches with Irish accents. What's not to like? Plus, they're effortless reading and sometimes that's just what the reading doctor ordered. Although it does beg the question as to whether or not reading about witches on 6/6/06 means that I'm fated for warmer climes after this life. lol

Any good recommendations for more substantial reading? It's time to start thinking about weightier things and making requests at the library.

Also, this is pretty much the antithesis of hockeyland, but Go 'Canes! They won the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals last night against Edmonton. Here's to hoping that they make it all the way. It would be nice to have a winning team in something other than basketball around here.

You know, I've never read a Nora Roberts. I'm not sure why. I don't have anything against them, but the covers never really grab me. Same thing with Maeve Binchy--oh, look, a pretty meadow with lovely wildflowers and zzzzzz. . .

I'm almost finished with Stephanie Plum #7, btw. Is she *ever* going to sleep with Ranger? Because I'm getting impatient.

I'd say that Roberts and Binchy are quintessentially different. Some of Roberts' books are quite entertaining. You might want to give her a try.

Have faith my little Evanovich reader. She does sleep with Ranger eventually. Not as much as I'd like though. I'm hoping for more in the new one that comes out later this month. On my anniversary actually. I'm thinking I know one thing that Greg can get me this year. :)

I've been thinking that I should read at least one Roberts book before I hear her speak this summer. Just so I have some context. Any suggestions?

And I am SO glad to hear that Steph eventually gives it up to Ranger. I mean, seriously. What is she waiting for? Joe stopped being interesting when they started having a functional relationship. (You know, that probably explains a lot about why I'm still single. . .)

Joe just doesn't do it for me either. There's something about the mystery of Ranger that pulls me in. And I want to find out what's in the Bat Cave dammit. Is that too much to ask?

Like I said, I've got high hopes for the next book. I'm thinking that Steph and Ranger need to go into hiding together for a long weekend to avoid some bad guys. I'm sure that Ranger is a man with...versatile entertainment value. ;)

I forgot to add, I like Nora Roberts' trilogies. Let me think. The Chesapeake Bay series is about three brothers (titles are Sea Swept, Rising Tides, and Inner Harbor). Inner Harbor was my favorite because it was about the brother that I most liked. I also like the Donovan Legacy which is about the hereditary witches that I mentioned in the above post. Finally, my favorite book by her is called Carolina Moon. It's darker and centers around a woman with psychic powers returning to her hometown and trying to solve the murder of her childhood best friend while coming to terms with her own painful past.

I *love* Nora Roberts. I think I have almost everything she's published. (I slacked off this past year.) If you want some Nora recommendations, let me know. My favorite romance novel ever is by her, Private Scandals. Just good old fashioned girl-meets-hot-reporter-than-becomes-hot-reporter-herself with a little murder mystery thrown in. Yum. :)

She is such a prodigious producer I can't imagine owning everything by her. I think that Carolina Moon is one of my favorites. But, I do like the Donovan books as well.
