#98 was The Machine's Child by Kage Baker. This is the latest installment in one of my two favorite current sci-fi series, The Novels of the Company. (The Harry Dresden series is the other for anyone who's interested.) This was much less depressing than the last book, while still managing to raise more disturbing questions. I like this series enough that I bought it full price at B&N instead of waiting for my library to get a copy.

#99 is We're Just Like You, Only Prettier: Confessions of a Tarnished Southern Belle by Celia Rivenbark. This one was given to me for my birthday last year and was sitting on a pile of books to be read. It's a collection of humorous essays with some laugh out loud moments, but it may be a little specific to the Southern woman experience for a general readership.

Yes, I know that I haven't done the Ireland trip details yet, but life has been crazy busy. I've driven hundreds of miles the last few days taking the kids back and forth to friend's houses and the like. If only driving were an aerobic activity I'd be in kickass shape. I will get around to my little travelogue soon, I promise. *crosses heart*

In the midst of getting ready for Diwali and washing my bedsheets, I was thinking of you and your trip to Ireland. I wondered if you were still there, did you go and what not. Can't wait to hear the details...

I hope that life settles down a bit for you before the holiday craziness hits.

Oh, I just saw this entry after I replied to your last one. I'm not nagging you about Ireland! :-)

Especially since I haven't posted in months. I still haven't decided if I want to post about all my silly, slashy, fluffy fannnish interests, or about my not-terribly-exciting real life now that I've lost interest in VM . . . I'm thinking of starting a recs journal for slash fic, but haven't decided how I want to structure it. So my LJ sits, lonely and neglected. ;-)

Did you say at one point that there was no way you'd make it to 100 this year? Are you reading a special book for the momentous occasion?
