Tired, oh so tired

angela_oI love Christmas, but the work that goes into getting ready for Christmas? Not so much. This weekend has been spend decorating and the end is in sight. We got the tree yesterday (a Fraser fir that's about 8 1/2 feet tall and about 5 feet wide at the base) and it was decorated today. I also got the lights up inside and out as well as my nutcrackers and other assorted decorating items. I have my mini trees to do sometime in the next few days as well as the vast majority of my shopping. That needs to be finished before I head out of town on Saturday especially since E's 15th birthday (15!!) is two days after I return. Not to mention this week is crazy busy.
I got a few more books read late last week though and wanted to get them down before I forgot.
#120 is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. J brought this home from her school library and I blew through it in one evening. A very engrossing vampire YA that deviates from the norm somewhat. She and I both very much enjoyed it. I've placed a hold on the sequel now and am anxiously awaiting it being fulfilled.
#121 is The Fourth Bear by Jasper Fforde. The next in the Nursery Crimes series. Rollicking good fun chock full of homicidal Gingerbread Men, blue aliens who speak in binary, and bears with porridge substance abuse problems.
#122 is Peeps by Scott Westerfield. Another book that J brought home. With yet another unusual spin on vampirism. This one is predicated on the idea that it's very similar to a virus and that the enhancements that it confers serve a particular purpose. I'm curious to see where he goes with this one. I like Westerfield, but the ends of his third books in a series never quite do it for me. Maybe he's fixed that failing.
Now to bed I go. Tomorrow I have a morning meeting, a lunch, and a evening meeting in addition to all the usual kid and household-related stuff. I'm clinging to the dinner sleigh ride and massage that are in my not-too-distant future.
