Beware the Ides of March

Mood still south of normal, but a little better. I employed some retail therapy yesterday and it's amazing that it works so well. Is that specific to the female gender do you think? Target had some great cheap pottery dishes in a variety of colors and I got them in celadon green. Does anyone besides me get the yen for new dishes every few years? I'm not even remotely domestic and yet I feel the urge periodically. Maybe because dishes are really just house accessories and I'm a big fan of the accessory? My psyche continues to confound me.
Recent books to add to the list.
#42 is Looking for Alaska by John Green (March/07). This is the first novel by the author. I very much enjoyed An Abundance of Katherines and so decided to check this one out. Green has a gift for capturing the myopia of teenagers and I liked this, but it did seem much more a "first novel". It's always intriguing to go back and read first works by an author because you can see their writing style in embryonic fashion.
#43 is The Scarlet Letterman by Cara Lockwood(Mar/07). The second in the Bard Academy books. Not quite as engrossing as the first, but still an enjoyable read. I primarily picked this one up for J, but read it yesterday afternoon before she got home from school. She might actually have squeed when I gave it to her.
#44 is It's Not You, It's Me by Allison Rushby(Mar/07). An Aussie chick lit that I picked up from the clearance table at Barnes and Noble yesterday and very much enjoyed when I read it last night. Not your typical entry into the genre and peppered with Aussie slang which always tickles me. Plus, a 6'4" male lead appeals to me on a visceral level. :)
