I've seen this one pop up on several times on my FL in the last day or so and was intrigued. Likening tv shows to old exes is an inspired idea.

The one who seduced you and fucked you over and broke your heart in a million pieces and laughed about it: Roswell. Hands down. On the other hand, it also opened up the wide world of internet fandom so I can't totally regret it.

The old flame you don't see very often any more but whom you still really enjoy getting together with for a few drinks and maybe a pleasant nostalgic romp in the sheets: The X-Files. Ah, Mulder and Scully and the heyday of UST.

The mysterious dark gothy one whom you used to sit up with talking until 3 a.m. at weird coffeehouses and with whom you were quite smitten until you realized he really was fucking crazy: Veronica Mars. It started out so well and went so very, very badly. I was rooting for cancellation by S3. Honorary mention for Buffy. *mutters about Marti Noxon and her damnned "bad boyfriend" issues*

The one you spent a whole weekend in bed with and who drank up all your liquor, and whom you'd still really like to fuck again although you're relieved he doesn't actually live in town: La Femme Nikita. Two words. Michael Samuelle.

The steady/ies: Gray's Anatomy, BSG, Jericho

The one you repeatedly cheat on your steady with: No one. Apparently I'm more of a monogamist than I thought. Or else there's nothing that intrigues me programmed against one of my regulars.

The alluring stranger whom you've flirted with at parties but have never gotten really serious with: Doctor Who. Once Eccleston left, my interest withered away.

The one you're embarassed to admit you know, let alone dated (I added this one myself...because, really, it needs its own category): One Tree Hill and/or Smallville.

The one you hang out with and have vague fantasies about maybe having a thing with but ultimately you're just good buddies 'cause the friendship is there but the chemistry ain't: LOST

The one your friends keep introducing you to and who seems like a hell of a cool guy except it's never really gone anywhere: The Office

The one who's slept with all your friends, and you keep looking at him and thinking, "Him? How the hell did he land all these cool babes?": Heroes

The one your friend has fallen for like a ton of bricks and whom she keeps babbling to you about on the phone for hours, and you'd be happy for her except you just know it's going to end badly: Friday Night Lights. Yes, it's incredibly well done, but the Katims factor has to kick in at some point. See item 1 on this list.

And in other news, I went round the bend and brought home a new kitty today. He's a black domestic shorthair with golden eyes and he's about 4 months old. Name TBA. It's fun to have a new baby in the house.

Thanks! Things are going pretty smoothly so far. We kept him isolated from the other cats yesterday, but we're going for integration today. He and Max are working out their relationship right now and things look positive. :)

I think you and I are the only two people in the world not fooled by Friday Night Lights (even WITH Kyle Chandler, whom I adore). It HAS to go bad. It WILL go bad. It's Darth. There is no other possibility.

I've watched on and off and it's generally quite wonderful, but I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. The only thing that I can think is that Peter Berg runs a tight ship. Katims seems to function better when someone else is in charge.

Oh, I read that Katims has been added as a consultant to the new Bionic Woman remake. I was going to check it out, but now I many need to reconsider.

Just said the latter in my own journal. ;)

Congratulations on the new kitty! That's very exciting.

I thought about stealing your meme, but it would require too much decision-making. Like, would I put VM in the first category, or in the same one you did? If I didn't put it in the first category, I wouldn't have anything else to replace it with since that was my first fannish experience and the one that taught me not to invest too deeply in my shows. So, yeah. I'm with you, though. ;-)

I admit that I had a moment of "wait, that's a lot of choices I have to make" when I read the meme myself. The first fannish experience show is definitely teaches you some unexpected lessons.

Are you happy about "Heroes" coming back? Even with the addition of KBell to the cast?

Yes, I'm happy for "Heroes" to return. I'm not deeply obsessed in the show itself (I think it's clear where my actual obsession lies there ;-D) but the show is entertaining for me. But, yeah, I'm pretty much dreading KB's appearance quite a bit. And to think there was a time when she was a girlcrush of mine!
