G and I went to see "The Fall" last night and it was visually stunningly beautiful.  It was filmed several years ago, but only got a distribution deal this year in all likelihood because Lee Pace is the lead actor and "Pushing Daisies" got so much critical attention.  If it's playing at an art house theater near you, do yourself a favor and go see it.  The director filmed in at least 18 different countries and the scenery is spectacular and the connection between Pace's character and the little girl playing the lead is beautiful as well.  Between this and "Iron Man", I have to say that I'm having a very good movie summer so far this year.

I haven't even heard of this one, Angela...but between your comments on it, and Lee Pace (*sigh*) I'm intrigued! What's it about?

I wouldn't have heard of it either Anne, but I just happened to stumble over a review somewhere and was intrigued. It's a story within a story movie. Pace plays an injured stuntman in the early days of Hollywood who is possibly paralyzed and despondent over both his injury and the fact that his starlet girlfriend threw him over for her costar. In the same hospital is a immigrant girl injured during a fall picking in the orange groves. They meet and he begins to tell her a fantastical story about bandits and villains that mirrors events in their which is filtered through the little girl's perspective. I can't really tell you more without giving too much away. But, it's gorgeous and I very much enjoyed it. Plus, Lee Pace is quite pretty if that's any sort of selling point. :)

Ooooh...that actually does sound fascinating to me just from what you said! I'm going to have to see if it's playing anywhere around here. *ponders*

lol....not that I have any time to go to the movies. I'm leaving in a week for England!

I had to check and see, and it's playing at the art theater by my parents' house. My mom e-mailed me yesterday to ask if I wanted to watch any particular movies while I'm there before leaving, so I e-mailed her back today to suggest that we catch a matinee of this before I leave ;) lol. So we shall see!

Thanks so much for the recommendation! It sounds fabulous!
