Well, today I turned 40. It was fairly anticlimactic for such an iconic number. When I was a child I thought that 40 year olds would have life figured out. I've come to realize that as soon as you think you have life figured out, the questions change. I'll be interested to see what this decade brings. I've been told that it's the most productive of your life. Time will tell I suppose. I did get some cool gifts though. gift talk )

The kids also started school today. Yes, the universe was giving me a gift as well. :) Everyone seemed to have a good day. N was very nervous about starting first grade. So much so that she was still awake at 11 last night, but the day went smoothly. It helps that her best friend is also in her class. M likes his 3rd grade class and E and J are 8th and 7th graders respectively. J was particularly happy about returning to school. I remember being bored by the end of summer and anxious for school to start as well. Fortunately the kids are all on the same campus this year. That should cut my driving time in half and with gas prices skyrocketing, that's definitely a good thing.

How did my birthday treat the rest of you? :)
