Concert wrap up
Apr. 8th, 2006 08:14 pmSo, last night was the Franz Ferdinand/Death Cab for Cutie concert and it was a blast. Anne, you told me that Franz was good live and I'm now a believer. In fact, I think Franz is much better live than they are on cd. In contrast, while I love Death Cab, I think you need to listen to their cds to fully appreciate their music because the lyrics are so crucial. Big arenas with sometimes muddy acoustics aren't necessarily the best showcase for them. That being said, I still had a great time.
Here are the set lists as best as I can recreate them. Although the helpful Duke senior sitting next to me didn't know the first two Franz songs either.
( Franz set list )
The lead singer of Franz was very charismatic and I thought that they did a very good job mixing up songs from both of the albums. I was very pleasantly surprised.
The opening act, The Cribs, was most notable for the antics of the drummer. I'd never actually seen anyone stand on their drum set while playing before other than Animal on the Muppet Show. It was very amusing.
( Death Cab set list )
Now, for the funny moments.
( Ah, the vagaries of age )
