I've been pondering the season finale of VM and have come up with the following.

So, Rob Thomas has left a *lot* of plot points up in the air with only one episode left to resolve them. Here goes my effort to wrap them up.

1. The bus crash. Who engineered it? *cue drum roll* I'm going with Beaver. I think that Beaver knew that Peter was planning to out Woody and didn't want to be implicated in the fallout. Beaver was already considered a weakling in his family and imagine how the Dicks Sr. and Jr. would have reacted to the news that he'd been molested by Woody. Talk about a life not worth living. *shudders* I think that Beaver would rather kill than live through that. Later, Beaver could have used Lucky to pressure Woody into throwing incorporation via the incriminating emails which would then make the Phoenix Land Trust a huge success. I'm thinking that Peter approached Woody that day at Sharks Field and Gia was told not to go back on the bus because Woody didn't want her in proximity to Peter after their interaction.

2. Aaron. Given the previews from last week it would seem that Veronica is going to be in a threatening situation with Aaron in which he definitively admits to murdering Lilly. What if Logan is the one who has to save her from Aaron? One of Logan's biggest regrets is that he didn't protect the women that he loved from his father and that he was also victimized by Aaron. If Logan is finally able to save someone that he loves from Aaron, he would get a degree of closure on some of the most painful events of his life. Plus, imagine the increased angst to the Logan/Veronica relationship if he kills his own father to save her. Those scenes at the shooting range earlier in the season have to payoff at some point. Plus, there's a certain degree of irony to the fact that Aaron's inability to stay away from young blondes should be his fatal downfall.

3. Boatloads of Fun. I'm thinking this is more of a one off than it seemed earlier in the season. I'm not sure that it will play into the finale at all.

4. Veronica's college plans. One of the greatest ironies of the last episode is that by honoring Lilly's memory and going to hear the verdict in Aaron's trial, Veronica tanked her chance for the Kane Scholarship. So, I'm guessing that it's Heart next season after all. Never mind the fact that Stanford has apparently instituted a new policy of waiving tuition for poor students.

5. Kendall and the Fitzgeralds. While the Fitzgeralds are *scary*, I'm thinking that they were more red herrings than anything else. The femme fatale is one of the great noir hallmarks after all.

6. Sally. This one I have no idea about. Unless it was to show that Beaver does have the capacity to be stone cold menacing as a means of establishing motive.

7. Weevil. I've been wondering if Francis Capra would be around next season and this is the perfect way to get rid of him. His place in a post high school world is much less obvious at any rate. Although, given the success of the Balboa County DA, conviction is most definitely not a surety.

Can he fit it all into 44 minutes next Tuesday? We'll have to tune in and see.

So, there you have it. My Unified Field Theory of VM S2. Questions? Comments? Bueller?
