We had our 20th wedding anniversary yesterday. It's almost impossible to believe that it's been that long. It was a low key day as we had a swim meet last night. The Piranhas are still undefeated, but the toughest team is next week. We may go out for a fancy dinner once season is over. G did bring me home two dozen roses though. A dozen red and a dozen yellow. I had yellow roses in my wedding bouquet.

The latest books:

#90 is Plantation by Dorthea Frank Benton(June/07). A novel set in the modern Lowcountry South dealing with the vicissitudes of family. I sometimes found the protagonist annoying, but generally enjoyed the book.

#91 is Our Yanks by Margaret Mayhew(June/O7). I'm a sucker for novels set during the Second World War. I admit it. I blame it on all the "Danger UXB" episodes that I watched on PBS in my formative years.

#92 is The Medusa Strain by Chris Holmes(June/07). A bioterrorism thriller that was surprisingly tame. It's fascinating to see how the villains in thrillers have changed since the decline of the Cold War. It's now generally either the Chinese or Muslims. This one featured the latter and genetically altered anthrax.

#93 is Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich(June/07). The latest entry in the Stephanie Plum universe. Entertaining, but not as meaty as I'd hoped. Plus, not nearly enough Ranger.

#94 is The China Bride by Mary Jo Putney(June/07). I've never read any Putney and I needed something to do while waiting for my oil change. This one did give me a little more knowledge about trading between the West and China prior to the Opium War. I liked it.

Now, it's back to trying to get my house in order before D and her family arrive later this evening.
