angela_oAll hail eBay. My sister-in-law had planned to give the boys a Wii as a joint birthday present, but of course she couldn't get one. I told her that I'd see if I could find one. I was planning to head to our local GameStop to try and get one of the rain checks that they're selling tomorrow. However, when I asked how many they'd have the helpful clerk said "about a dozen". So, I decided to give eBay a try. I found an auction that only had a few minutes left and managed to get a Wii console (which comes with Wii Sports), plus Wii Play, Mario Party 8, Super Mario Galaxy, and an extra nunchuk. The price I got it for works out to close to what you'd get the all of them components for separately at normal prices. It's shipping FedEx tonight which means that it should definitely arrive before M's birthday next week! I've got my fingers crossed that it will be exactly as advertised when it arrives.
In other news, my kids are normally out of school the week before Christmas, but this year they changed the school calendar and they have school through noon tomorrow. This means that my mental landscape is conditioned to feel that we have over a week until Christmas. It simply doesn't seem real to me that it's five days from now!
Also, I finally managed to get another book read.
#172 is Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. Anytime I get the urge to complain about the inequity of being a woman, someone should remind me of this. Compared to foot binding and having no power to speak of, my life is a bed of roses.
So, no recipes huh? I was hoping for the perfect sugar cookie recipe that would revolutionize my cookie baking for the holidays. :)
