Here's a cool meme that I've seen floating around, most recently in the LJ of
ww1614.
Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will list you my top five of that thing or things.
Come one, come all. Step right up and ask away. :)
ETA The juxtaposition of the meme's content and the music that I was listening to at the time amuses me.

Date: 2005-07-20 11:39 am (UTC)I'm wearing my last clothes that smell like France today, so it's on my mind. *g* While in Paris, I washed my clothes with the detergent I always used when I lived there, and it's very evocative. But after today . . . they'll all be washed again with my usual American detergent. Sense memories erased!

Date: 2005-07-20 11:49 am (UTC)Interesting question. Let's see.
1. The air after it rains.
2. Carnations. I know that they're plebeian, but I love 'em. :)
3. Vanilla.
4. Mulled cider.
5. fall air with a hint of woodsmoke
Honorable mentions would go to chocolate, tea roses, musk, and the ocean.
Obviously food figures fairly heavily into my list. lol

Date: 2005-07-21 07:16 am (UTC)1. Triple chocolate mousse. A combination of white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate mousse at a much lamented French restaurant that used to be close to my house.
2. My grandmother's banana pudding. The real kind made only with Nilla wafers.
3. The red velvet cake that my aunt makes for me. With cream cheese frosting.
4. My mother's apple turnovers.
5. My husband's made from scratch apple pie. He's made it for my birthday in some years.
Honorable mention goes to a buttercream frosted yellow cake garnished with strawberries with lemon curd filling.
Now I'm hungry! lol

Date: 2005-07-21 02:52 pm (UTC)I had to think about this one for a little while and decided to go for very specific to me locations rather than more general places. In no particular order.
1. The hammock at my father-in-law's vacation home on Lake Leelanau with the wind rustling the leaves of the silver beeches.
2. The beach at night. Particularly on the NC coast and in Hawaii.
3. My mother's house.
4. Yale, specifically the Silliman dining hall and courtyard.
5. My bathtub late at night when everything is quiet in my house.
